Well Fed Ohana is a non-profit organization committed to changing the lives of families in need for generations by providing them with edible trees and plants, showing them how to maintain them, and teaching them how to prepare meals from the produce.

 

Our goal is to empower families to become self-sufficient and to improve their health and well-being.

Recipient of Castle Foundation Pilina Fund award: planting the seed of Well Fed Ohana

Well Fed Ohana is the grateful recipeint of a  Ko'olau Pilina Fund grant from the Harold K.L. Castle Foundation as project increasing the community resilience in the Ko'olau community from Kahuku to Makapu'u.

From Idea to Reality: The Evolution of Well Fed Ohana

The origin of WFO goes back the 1970's when founder Bruce Campbell was the first caretaker of the edible landscape at the Energy House at UH Manoa. Coming full circle this commitment to growing our own island food is made possible through MA Farm and Food First Nursery in  providing the knowledge, plants and recipes to grow in and with the ohanas of Waimanalo.
